Lusaka’s Zombe Residents Granted Interim Injunction

The Lands tribunal has granted an interim injunction to the people of Zombe in Lusaka west restraining Zamcapital Limited, Star Cottage and others from their wrongful demolition of houses.
The Order has further prevented the respondents from carrying out any evictions, threatening directly or indirectly or sub-dividing the land pending an inter-part hearing.
Residents of Zombe had their houses demolished by local authorities at the order of Office of the President College officials on claims that they were squatters.
The residents have disputed the claim and refused to vacate the land months after their houses were demolished.
