Super League 2016 golden boot winner, Walter Bwalya has extended his contract for two more years with the Kitwe giants, Nkana football Club.This will see Bwalya stay with the 12-Times Champions till July 2019.The goal-scoring machine who arrived at Nkana Stadium in July 2015, has scored 35 goals since his arrival from the Ndola outfit Forest Rangers.
He finished top on the 2016 top scorers’ sheet with 24 goals, nine better than second placed Jess Jackson Were of ZESCO United.Nkana Football Club President Everisto Kabila who confirmed the development, could not hide his excitement over the new development.
Kabila says Bwalya is going to make the league competitive and more exciting as Zambian clubs are now able to return quality players amid lots of interests from foreign clubs.
Walter signed his contract extension on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 and this new contract will see him stay with club till July 2019.He adds that Nkana Football Club is a big club and for it to achieve its objectives, it needs to attract quality players of Walter Bwalya’s calibre.”
Mr. Kabila further stated that the squad will be reinforced in some areas such as goal-keeping, defence and midfield before the 2017 soccer season commences.
