Zambia Records Increase In Cases Of Internal Human Trafficking

Zambia has witnessed an increase in cases of internal trafficking of human beings for domestic slavery and forced labour.
According to the Trafficking in Persons-TIP report, apart from domestic slavery, the agricultural and mining sector account for the worst forms of human exploitation.
United Nations agency, the International Organization for Migration, has come up with steps to ensure that there is a reduction of cases of internal trafficking.
Zambia Communication’s Focal Point Bertha Nguvulu says apart from equipping law enforcement officers with skills to indentify trafficking victims, journalists are being trained to enhance their capacity to effectively report on human trafficking and smuggling.
