Government Backs Local Fuel Transporters

Government has finally sided with local fuel transporters who have been protesting the use of foreign drivers at their expense.Energy Minister, David Mabumba has admitted that Zambian transporters have been sidelined in the petroleum procurement process in preference to foreigners.
He has revealed that government will come up with legislation that will compel all Oil Marketing Companies to use Zambian transporters.
Zambian tanker drivers have had their trucks parked for about two months on account that the fuel reserve are full, while foreign drivers had continued ferrying the commodity into the country.
