Govt Urged To Prioritize Community Schools in Free Sanitary Towels Distribution

Government has been urged to give priority to the girl child in community schools in its program for free sanitary towels distribution.
Centre for Reproductive Health Executive Director, Amos Mwale says most pupils in community schools come from vulnerable families who do not afford many life requirements.
He has however expressed concern with the budgetary allocation to the Ministry of General Education which he says is not enough to cater for the targeted pupils.
Government in the 2017 budget announced it will begin distributing free sanitary towels to girls in rural based schools to ensure they continue attending classes.
