Ndola City Council Workers Strike Over Salaries

Ndola City Council workers have gone on strike due to non-payment of salaries for seven months.
Only a few out of the eighty workers have accepted to be paid salaries one month salaries.
Council Public Relations Manager, Roy Kuseka has admitted that the council is facing challenges to pay the workers.
Mr. Kuseka has disclosed that the local authority is owed over Twenty Million Kwacha in rates by individuals and companies.
In November 2016, One hundred and 59 Ndola City Council casual workers were fired due to financial challenges.
