UTH Directed To Conduct MRI Scan On Stranded Patient

The Ministry of Health has directed the University Teaching Hospital-UTH-to ensure that an MRI scan is done on a patient with a spinal cord problem who has been languishing at the institution.
Peter Sikazwe has remained unattended to for years because he is unable to raise One Thousand Kwacha needed to pay for the scan.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson, Dr. Kennedy Malama says a patient cannot be denied medical attention on account of failure to pay for the service.
He says a patient must always be priority.
Mr. Sikazwe has been in and out of hospital seeking treatment for a spinal cord problem which started after he was attacked by robbers about five years ago.
