ZUFIAW Calls For More Focus On Economic Development, Poverty Alleviation

The Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers says the country needs to focus on economic development and poverty alleviation and not the 2021 general elections.
ZUFIAW President says Ackim Mweemba it is very worrying that the country is debating the eligibility of presidential candidates for 2021 instead of addressing immediate pressing needs of the general populace.
Mr. Mweemba has urged government to stay out of the debate and ensure that the country identifies and implements policies which will be beneficial to the agriculture diversification programme.
He says the invasion of army worms on crops and mismanagement of farming input support programme in the current farming season may plunge Zambians into poverty.
