Businessman Mark Mubalama Fined K 900

The Lusaka Magistrate Court has fined businessman Mark Mubalama for giving false information to a public officer.
Mr Mubalama has been fined k900 for lying to a National Passport and Citizenship Officer and a Consular staff at the Zambia High Commission in Windhoek, Namibia that he attended school at Kansenshi Primary and Secondary Schools in Ndola from 1988 to 1993 when infact not.
The business man was fined upon his admission of guilty in Count 2 and 4 when he took fresh plea.

Meanwhile, the state has entered a nolle prosequi in Count 1 and 2.

Particulars are that on December 30, 2010 Mr Mubalama made a false statement to a passport officer that his father is a
Zambian citizen from Kawiko Village of Chief Kanongesha in Mwinilunga District believing the same to be false.
