Businessman Mubalama Case Deferred To Feb

Trial in a matter where businessman Mark Mubalama is facing charges of giving false information to a public officer has been deferred to February 27th.
This is due to a development arising from Mubalama’s lawyer Lubinda Linyama that he needs to sit with his client on how to proceed with the case.
It is alleged that on 30th December 2010 Mr Mubalama made a false statement to a passport officer that his father is a Zambian Citizen from Kawiko Village of Chief Kanongesha In Mwinilunga District.
Mr Mubalama on the same date allegedly lied to a national passport and citizenship officer that he attended school at Kansenshi Primary and Secondary School in Ndola from 1988 to 1993 knowing it was false.
It is also alleged that Mr. Mubalama on 10 September 2012 also gave the same details he gave to a national passport and citizen officer, to a consular staff at the Zambian High Commission in Windhoek Namibia believing the same to be false.
