East UPND Condemns PF for ‘Betraying’ Street Vendors

The opposition UPND in Eastern province has condemned Patriotic Front-PF for betraying street vendors in Chipata.
Reacting to the PF stance that vendors should be removed in Chipata, UPND Provincial Spokesperson Victor Mbuzi says it is sad that the PF engaged in deceptive campaigns prior to the August 11, 2016 elections.
And Provincial Chairperson Paul Thole has appealed to the Chipata Municipal Council to find a better way of handling the vendors.
On Monday, vendors and PF cadres protested against the local authority following a deadline given that vendors should stop trading in the streets by today Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
