Ndola Retirees Demand Town Clerk’s Dismissal

Ndola City Council retirees have called for the dismissal of town clerk, Ernest Sumani.
The retirees have charged that Mr. Sumani has failed to honour is promise to pay them their retirement packages.
Group chairperson Kenan Matavu says the retirees are being taken for granted which they cannot tolerate anymore.
On Friday morning, the retirees blocked the entrance to the local authority and forced workers outside the premises.
Police rushed to the council in a bid to prevent the angry former workers from breaking property.
