Police Justifies Teargassing Chainama College Students

Police have defended the firing of tear gas in dormitories at Chainama Hills College on Thursday after students protested the closure of Chainama Clinic pending demolition.
Assistant Police Public Relations Officer Nephas Chifuta says police had no other option to disperse the unruly students.
Thirteen students were arrested and detained for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
Mr Chifuta discloses the students were released after being thoroughly warned.
On Thursday Chainama College students staged protests to express displeasure over the closure of Chainama clinic where they do their practical.
