St Mary’s Shopping Mall EIA Report Drags

Petitioners against the construction of a shopping mall next to St Mary’s secondary school are worried over the delay by Zambia environmental management agency-ZEMA-to conclude the environmental impact assessment-EIA.
The land in question was subjected to an EIA after parents, pupils and some members of the public expressed concern over the effects the mall will have on the learners.
Petition Chairman, Peter Lungu has since urged ZEMA to speed up the assessment process.
