Kampyongo Mute Over ZAF Officer Killing Findings

Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo has declined to comment on findings of the Human Rights Commission investigations into the death of ZAF officer Mark Choongwa.
Mr. Kampyongo who confirms having looked at the Commission’s report says he can only comment once joint investigation between Ministry of Defense and Home Affairs are concluded.
He however, did not state when the report would be out.
The Human Rights Commission during its investigations established that police officers at Woodlands Station used excessive force on the ZAF Flight Sergeant and unlawfully detained him after committing a minor traffic offence.
The Commission also disqualified claims by the police command that the deceased was thrown into the cells for assaulting a police officer.
