Delayed Enactment Of Access To Information Bill Worries Ndola Clergymen

Ndola Clergyman Charles Mapiki says it is worrying that government has continued to drag its feet over the issue of enacting the Access to Information bill into law.
Reverend Mapiki says the delay has raised questions about government’s commitment to transparency and the continued harassment of journalists across the country.
He says it is unfortunate that the bill has not yet been presented before parliament when successive ministers have promised to table it.
He hopes that Information Minister, Kampamba Mulenga’s statement is not mere rhetoric when she revealed that the bill will be tabled before parliament for enactment as soon as Parliament reopens.
