The Lusaka magistrate court has found UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema with a case to answer in the use of insulting language case.
This was after the state closed its case with the fourth witness who testified against Hichilema.
Meanwhile Principle Resident Magistrate Greenwell Malumani threatened to lock up a state witness for lying in court.
The court promised to take action as the witness was shamelessly lying on oath despite being guided.
Assistant superintendent Mpanzi Mbita lied to the court that he was not at Mr. Hichilema’s residence on 10th April, 2017 around 22:00 hours when the report he submitted to the police station indicates that he was present.
This is in a matter in which Mr. Hichilema is accused of insulting police officers who raided his residence when effecting an arrest.
Four UPND supporters have appeared in the Lusaka Magistrate Court on charges of being in possession of offensive weapons.
The accused who have since denied the charges are Remmy Mukoba, Kelvin Mupulusa, Fabian Lubosi and Martin Muchindu.
It is alleged that the four had in their possession two plastics of potassium permanganate and one plastic bottle of glycerin on April 25, 2017 a bow and three arrows.
They appeared before Lusaka magistrate Silvia Miyinya.
