UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has urged the international community to come to his aid over what he terms his unlawful incarceration.
Mr. Hichilima was speaking after his treason case was referred to the High Court for judicial review.
The Lusaka Magistrate Court has granted Mr. Hichilema judicial review to challenge the validity of the committal certificate that was issued by the deputy chief state advocate.
However, Mr. Hichilema says he is not satisfied with the ruling and that his detention is purely spiteful as he has not committed any crime following the judgement by Magistrate Greenwell Malumani that no investigations were carried out prior to his arrest.
Principal Resident Magistrate David Simusamba has advised Mr. Hichilema to first inquire in the High Court over the validity of the committal certificate which was not issued by the DPP vested with such authority.

HH has not committed a treason charge persay the offence is just criminal of which if anything he is not supposed to kept in jail.Lungu and his minions wants to take advantage as president to silence as well as implicate him yet there is no evidence following the arresting officers confessing that they did not investigate the case and that the courts of law has already ruled in favour of him.The facts to prove he wanted to overthrow the GOVT or his intentions to announce the the presidency during Kuomboka ceremony are invalid because how does he declare himself president yet there institutions responsible to carry out such mandates?Treason charges has only come about since the idea is to deny him his constitution rights as the case is unbailable We hope the high court will relook at the case and squah it.
