The Road Transport and Safety Agency has given Kapena Transport Bus Company two days in which to show cause as to why the road service licence should not be suspended for violating the conditions upon which the operator’s licence was granted.
RTSA Head of Public Relations Fred Mubanga says the Agency Chief Executive Officer Mr Zindaba Soko has stated that the RTSA has undertaken preliminary investigations following the Luangwa accident and that it has come to light that the accident was caused following the re-adjustment of the brakes that were fitted two days prior to the journey.
He adds that the findings from the preliminary investigations indicate that the operator neglected or failed to ensure that the bus in question was fit to carry passenger after the change of the brakes.
