Luanshya Pirate Taxis Mopped Out

The Luanshya Municipal Council has begun the process of mopping up pirate taxis in a bid to bring sanity in town.
A combined team of state and council police officers have cleared the central business district to stop black number plates from pirating in town.
The move has angered pirate taxi drivers who have accused the council of using police officers to intimidate them.
They have advised the council to embrace them because there are no jobs in Luanshya that will sustain their lives and that of their children.
But Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda says pirate taxi drivers were engaged on the local authority’s action as late as Monday night.
