Muslim Faction Calls For Dissolution Of Islamic Council Leadership

A faction has emerged in the Muslim community calling for the immediate dissolution of the Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia-ISCZ leadership.
Gregory Mulenga and three others have accused the Suzyo Zimba led executive of failing to meet the expectations of Muslims.
They have also accused the executive of clinging on to power despite their five year mandate having ended in 2015.
However, ISCZ President, Suzyo Zimba, says the council has already notified its members that elections will be held next month.
Mr. Zimba says elections could not be held earlier due to financial challenges.
