Police Embark On Investigative Training For GBV

The Zambia police service has embarked on a five-day training workshop aimed at ‎equipping police officers with knowledge and skills to investigate Gender Based Violence-GBV cases.

Deputy Police Inspector General Eugene Sibote says there must be a big change in the manner officers will be investigating and dealing with survivors of GBV cases.

He says the statistics suggest that GBV cases are still on the increases and measures must be put in put to arrest the situation in the country.

And Victim support Unity National Coordinator Collins Hikalinda has called on stakeholders to join in the fight against the vice.

Over 100 Officers drawn from three Provinces namely Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern Provinces.

The training is being held at Lusaka’s Lilayi Police College.
