Solwezi Street Vendors Issued With A Two-Week Ultimatum To Relocate

Solwezi Municipal Council has issued a two-week ultimatum for vendors trading along the Central Business District to vacate the streets.
Council Public Relations Officer Thandiwe Tembo says the local authority has engaged the vendors to consider relocating within the stipulated time frame and avoid the use of minimum force.
She says the move is meant to create a clean and conducive environment as well as pave way for the expansion of the main road into a dual carriage way.
Ms. Tembo adds that over five hundred spaces have been identified in the markets where vendors are supposed to relocate.
