Chiefs Urged To Help End Early Child Marriages

Escalating number of early Child marriages in most rural areas remains a thorny issue despite governments’ efforts to curb the vice.
Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Lawrence Sichalwe has challenged traditional leaders to help fight the vice.
Mr. Sichalwe says there is need for concerted efforts from all stakeholders if the vice is to be eradicated.
He made the remarks when he officiated at the 2017 Juba Ja Nsomo Traditional Ceremony for the Kaonde speaking people of Chief Kasempa establishment.
And Nsakwa Yaba Kaonde National Committee Chairperson represented by Geston Sondashi has appealed to Chiefs in the province to stop selling huge portions of land to investors at the expense of the locals.
