A Zambezi District Immigration Assistant has been arrested for alleged corrupt practices involving One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand Kwacha.
Anti- Corruption Commission Public Relations Manager Timothy Moono says Ben Mpundu Sokoni aged 42 of House Number A-26 Ndeke Compound of Zambezi District has been charged with 13 counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretense and two counts of Theft by Public Servant.
Mr Sokoni is alleged to have obtained One Hundred and Six Thousand, One Hundred Kwacha by purporting that he will facilitate the extension of Temporal Employment Permits for employees of Stefanutti Stocks Constructions Limited Company, when in fact not.
In the other counts, Mr Sokoni is said to have stolen K 10,500.00, which came into his possession by virtue of his employment.
Mr Sokoni has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear before court.
Meanwhile The Anti-Corruption Commission in Solwezi has arrested a Zambia News and Information Services -ZANIS Assistant photographer for alleged corrupt practices.
Bright Mulilo aged 35 of Hanzel Farm in Solwezi has been charged with 14 counts of forgery.
Mr Mulilo is alleged to have forged 14 payment vouchers, purporting that they were signed by a Mr Wesley Ngandu when in fact not..
He has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court soon.
