A police officer at Luanshya Central Police has allegedly shot dead his wife before turning the gun on himself.
The officer identified as Constable Kelvin Kabaso shot woman Constable Febby Changamba following a marital dispute at their home.
Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga has told MUVI TV NEWS in a telephone interview that the police officer returned from night patrol and found his wife and her mother, who had gone to settle the duo’s marital differences.
Ms. Katanga says the officer suddenly got annoyed and shot his wife in the chest before shooting himself in the mouth.
She says the woman died on her way to Thompson Hospital while the man sustained bullet wounds in the cheek and is receiving treatment at Ndola Teaching Hospital while a charge of murder awaits him.
