Lusaka High Court To Hear HH’S Petition Against His Arrest

The Lusaka High Court has set June 12th, 2017 for hearing the petition in which UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has asked the court to quash his unlawful arrest.
High Court Judge Betty Mung’omba will hear Mr. Hichilema’s lawyers and the Attorney General pending determination of the petition.
Meanwhile, June 15 has been set for hearing and determining the petition which the UPND leader has filed in the constitutional court where the party is challenging the legality of some provisions of the criminal procedure code which forbids the granting of bail to the accused person facing charges with capital penalty.
