Court Throws Out FDD Application Against Party Faction

The Lusaka High Court has thrown out an application by the Forum for Democracy and Development–FDD to stop the actions of the Save the FDD, a faction led by Chifumu Banda.
This is in a matter in which FDD was challenging the formation of the FDD group which comprises Chifumu Banda, Lawrence Mwelwa and YotumMtayachalo.
High Court Judge Sharon Newa has advised both parties to resolve the dispute by arbitration which decision the FDD were not satisfied with hence appealed and applied for stay of execution of the ruling.
But Justice Newa has yet again maintained that the party should go for arbitration to resolve the dispute.
In her ruling the judge says the FDD has not provided sufficient grounds to warrant the stay of execution of her earlier ruling.
Save FDD committee member Mwelwa is happy with the court’s decision.
