HRC Against Intimidation Of Opposition In Forthcoming By Elections

The Human Rights Commission has urged police officers in areas where elections are being held to avoid intimidating opposition political parties.

Commission Spokesperson MwelwaMuleya says political players must be given a level playing field.

Mr Muleya says the enforcement of article 31 must be suspended as directed by Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja.

He says Commissioners must realize that Public Order Act does not suggest infringement of key fundament human rights
