MAZ against Farmers’ Hording Maize

The Millers Association of Zambia-MAZ-says calls on famers to withhold their maize due to the unfavorable price obtaining on the market is misplaced.
MAZ President, Andrew Chintala says the call is irresponsible and a threat to the growth of the agricultural sector.
And an Economist, Patrick Nshindano has warned of a possible wastage of maize if farmers hold on to their produce in the face of inadequate storage facilities.
The Zambia national farmers Union-ZNFU-recently urged farmers hold on to their produce due to the low price offered by FRA of 60 Kwacha for a 50 Kg bag of Maize.
