Do Not Force Us To Act On POA Submissions, Lubinda Tells JCTR

Minister of Justice Given Lubinda says the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection- JCTR should not force his Ministry to hastily act on submissions to reform the Public Order Act.

Mr Lubinda is disappointed that JCTR wants the process to be expedited when it is not even among the few stakeholders who made early submissions.

The Minister says reforms to the Public Order Act are inevitable, but the Ministry will not be abused by organisations such as JCTR.
On Sunday, JCTR expressed worry at government’s delay in acting on the Public Order Act.
