Government has procured 20 thousand doses of vaccines to contain Foot and Mouth Disease that has broken out in Chavuma, Kabompo and Zambezi Districts of the North Western province.
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock officials are on the ground trying to contain the disease by first creating a disease free buffer zone, before moving to the infected areas.
Both Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr. Peter Banda and Chavuma District Commissioner, Benjamin Mufunga have confirmed the commencement of the vaccination exercise.
