Chalube Kitwe Playing Field–KPF have emerged champions of the Midlands Volleyball Association-MIVA Independence cup after running over Buffaloes by 3-0 in all sets.
The Kitwe based team who grabbed the cup for the first time since their formation in 2015, won two games and lost one but were above the rest on the point tally.
Chalube went away with a floating trophy and Five Thousand Kwacha.
Former defending champions Green Eagles came out runners up after finishing a double in a space of five days against Nkwazi with a well-deserved 3-0 on the scorecard.
In the ladies category lukewarm Super Select came from behind to win the final set 5-2 against determined Nkwazi who lost the earlier rhythm in the final end.
Super Select took home Five Thousand Kwacha while second place Nkwazi pocketed three thousand kwacha.
The MIVA independence challenge took place at the National Development Centre-NASDEC in Lusaka.
