Mongu Illegal Taxis Thrive

Unregistered taxi drivers have continued to operate in Mongu with impunity.
This is creating conflict with min-bus drivers who feel they are being put into unfair competition.
The bus drivers have accused the unregistered taxi drivers of being shielded from facing the law by belonging to the ruling PF.

Meanwhile, drivers at Mulungushi Bus Station have rejected attempts by PF cadres to take over the running of the bus station.
The drivers are angry after confirmed reports that PF cadres want to squeeze themselves in leadership positions at the station.

According to resolutions made at a meeting between cadres and Copperbelt provincial administration, some known PF cadres have been allocated positions at Mulungushi, Chisokone, Masala and other bus stations.
But the drivers have told the cadres to stay away from Mulungushi and ask President Edgar Lungu to fulfil promises by finding them jobs.
The drivers have vowed not to tolerate any PF cadre who will be spotted at the station.
