Munali Seat Nullification Case Hearing Delayed

Hearing of the main matter in which professor Nkandu Luo is challenging the nullification of her election victory as Munali Member of Parliament has been delayed.
This follows an application by lawyers representing UPND candidate Doreen Mwamba for time to study the supplementary list of authorities that Professor Luo through her lawyers tried to sneak in without applying for leave of the court.
Professor Luo’s lawyer Bonaventure Mutale submitted that the appellant was ready to proceed as she had filed in a supplementary list of authorities.
But Mwamba’s lawyer Henry Mbushi sought the court’s indulgence as the UPND candidate had not been availed with the supplementary list of authorities therefore it would be difficult to put up an argument.
Adjourning the matter Justice Mungeni Mulenga ordered for quick disposal of the matter and urged the parties to be ready on April 20th, 2018.
