UPND Cadres Battered by Police

A peaceful protest by United Party for National Development-UPND- cadres calling for the resignation of Director of Public prosecutions-DPP- Mutembo Nchito has been met with police short batons.

Scores of cadres were brutally assaulted and picked up following the procession which started from the party secretariat on Lagos road in Lusaka. This was after the party defied the Police warning against holding the   demonstration.

The opposition party is demanding Mutembo Nchito’s resignation as he has been linked to the 14 Billion Kwacha owed to the Development Bank of Zambia, the basis upon which President Sata has established a tribunal to investigate three judges of alleged professional misconduct.
