Zambia and Germany have signed a five hundred and fifty billion Kwacha grant which is about 81 point one million Euros to be implemented over a three-year period.
With high poverty levels in the country, the financial and technical cooperation grant from the Federal Republic of Germany will focus on poverty reduction programmes.
Signing on behalf of the Zambian Government, Acting President Alexander Chikwanda, says the critical areas to benefit from the grant will include macroeconomic support, poverty reduction budget support, water and sanitation and climate change into water resource monitoring and planning.
Endorsing the grant on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany, Germany Ambassador to Zambia Frank Meyke says his Government supports Zambia’s efforts in improving living conditions for the people.
