Cotton Price Discourage Farmers

Small scale Cotton farmers in Chongwe District have threatened to boycott growing the crop if government does not consider reverting to the old price of three thousand two hundred kwacha per Kilogram.
Maansa Zonal Cooperative Society Chairperson, Rodgers Chandala says the farmers’ threat comes in the wake of reduction in the price of cotton.
And Small Scale farmers Development agency Director Boyde Moobwe says farmers will meet in Kitwe to resolve some of the outstanding challenges and present their resolutions to Agriculture Minister Emmanuel Chenda.
