Zambia to Miss Boxing Celebrations

Zambia will not be represented at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the world boxing council-WBC.

 

Boxers from various countries have been shortlisted to take part in the 50 years celebration ceremony in Mexico.

 

The Only boxer who has qualified for the tournament is Kennedy Kanyanta who resigned on medical grounds.

 

Kanyanta was supposed to fight Chris Edwards of Britain.

 

Other boxers selected are Joseph Ageko of Ghana, Ali Oubaali of Morocco and Alisher Rahimov of Uzbekistan.

 

Zambia boxing federation general secretary Benn Saili has disclosed that Zambia has no replacement.

 

And when questioned about Esther Phiri  Saili lamented that Esther is far from qualifying to such an international tournament.

 

The tournament will be held this September in Mexico
