Synopsis
MUVI TV’s Ngoma award winning feature film (Best Feature Film 2009), Reflection of Sadness is a heart warming story that will change the way society looks at itself.
In a world that is filled with so much hate and so many trials and tribulations; a world that will weigh heavily on you and kill you if you’re not strong enough, two lovers must rediscover their lives and redefine the meaning of true love.
Angela is a prostitute with a dark secret that has haunted her all her life. She has lost all hope. She lives for today and doesn’t care what tomorrow brings. Her heart is broken and her soul is bruised. However, her life takes a twist when she’s picked up by the mysterious Mr. John who has enough money to keep her with him the whole night, not for the services she has to offer but for something else. Something that might change Angela’s life forever.
The first love story penned for the big and small screen by Henry Joe Sakala, this movie touches on the many issues affecting the Zambian society today – unemployment, prostitution and child sexual harassment.
The movie features Clive Mwape as Mr. John, Mookana Simutanyi as Angela, Thabo Machobbanie as Lazarus, Reynolds Kazeze as George and new comer Juliet Chanda as Bupe.
Reflection of Sadness is also winner of Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Feature film at the inaugural NAMA Awards.
