Bush calls for cervical cancer sensitization

Former United States of America President George W Bush says there is need to step up the fight against cervical cancer. President Bush who is in Zambia to spearhead the Pink and Red ribbon campaigns says Zambian women are more prone to cervical cancer hence the need for more sensitization.

And Cervical Cancer Prevention Programme Co-director Professor Groesbeck Paharm says Cervical Cancer has remained the number one killer of women.

He says much more sensitization need to be done if the high cases are to be reduced.

The World Health Organization-WHO-has rated Zambia second in the Cervical Cancer prevalence rate.

President Bush arrived in the country on Saturday to take part in cervical cancer sensitization programmes and was this morning in Kabwe where he took part in refurbishing Ngungu Clinic in Kabwe.
