Kambwili closes Swimming pool debate

Government has declared a ceasefire on questions related to the construction of the swimming pool to be used for the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa (SCSA) Zone Six Youth Games.

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili says as Government, it cannot be questioned on such a decision because it benefits the people and not individuals.

Kambwili says following the presentation of the evaluation report on the construction of the swimming pool which was presented to the Zambia Public Procurement Authority-ZPPA yesterday, contractors will soon go on site to start the construction.

He clarifies that there is no impasse regarding the construction of the swimming pool, and scolds stakeholders that are questioning his authority.

Kambwili reiterates that the decision to move the location from the initially planned NASDEC to OYDC was due to financial constraints that government cannot meet to maintain the facility
