Farmers in Monze District of southern Province have cautioned government against reducing the floor price of maize.
The farmers say they have been disturbed by reports that government intends to reduce the floor price of maize.
They warn that they will not take the PF government seriously if their income is slashed by the reduction of the price for Zambia’s staple food.
But on Friday, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Emmanuel Chenda says government’s delay to announce the floor price of maize should not be seen as refusal to procure maize from farmers.
