The Lusaka City council has with immediate effect shut Masiye Motel along Lumumba Road. This follows worsening of sanitary conditions at the drive in motel.
A MUVI TV News crew which rushed to the scene found leaking sewer pipes casing a foul smell. Lusaka City Council Public Relations Officer, Henry Kapata has confirmed the closure of the motel.

We Zambians are now immuned to filth. How can guests live in such a place? How can staff operate under such fifth? Lusaka city council should also close all filth markets and they should set an example of cleanness in the city.
Am glad this place is closed. Its sad to see such levels of filth. The children are a good example of what not to do. Their father left them a fortune but they have let him down by downgrading it. Soon everyone of them will be langiushing in poverty. This place was on of the top spots back in the day and standards were supposed to be raised by now but instead the money they got was all for play and not maintaining. I wouldnt be surprised to hear that this place actually acts as a brothel coz a normal thinking person wouldnt live in such disgust.
