A survey to know the number of homosexuals in the country is to be conducted.

A non governmental organization called Dette Resource foundation has embarked on a baseline survey on homosexuality.

Launching the survey organization programs director David Musonda has disclosed that the survey will be conducted in Lusaka, Kitwe and Livingstone over a four months period.

Mr. Musonda says targeted institutions include prisons and boarding schools.

Homosexuality is not recognized in Zambia so people engaged in the practice do not come out in the open.
