Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini has committed himself to increasing the stay of parliamentarians in selected committees.

Dr Matibini says this is targeted at allowing the same parliamentarians enforce capacity building initiatives they would have gained as members of the committees.

Speaking at a sensitization seminar familiarizing MP’s on the operations of the Auditor Generals office, Dr Matibini commended the AGs office for the reports that help parliament account for public resources.

And the Auditor General Anna Chifungula urged parliamentarians to identify themselves with the operational structure of her office in order to account for development resources in their communities correctly.
