Eleven people have died and several others seriously injured in a road traffic accident that happened in Rufunsa area along the great east road.

The Chipata bound Johabie bus overturned around midday after the bus lost control while trying to avoid an imbecile who was crossing the road.

Zambia police Deputy Public Relations Officer Munganga Chanda confirmed the development to Muvi Tv News.

And Levy Mwanawasa Hospital Public Relations Officer Mwenya Mulenga confirmed that the hospital received six casualties from the same accident.

A check by Muvi TV found medical personnel attending to the casualties.
