By Editor - Fri Aug 03, 6:15 pm

A local investor has complained of the increased illegal land quarrying in Lusaka’s Chinika area. Erick Njamba who is constructing a warehouse in the area at a cost of over 800 million Kwacha has complained that stones from the blasts have severely damaged the roof of his property.

Mr. Njamba has told MUVI TV NEWS in an interview that the development is retarding progress at his property. He says the matter which he has already reported to the local authority has seen no immediate solution.

But in a telephone interview, Lusaka City Council Assistant Public Relations Officer Mulunda Habbenzu said inadequate funds and human resource is hindering the local authority from acting swiftly on such matters.

Mr. Habbenzu was how ever quick to mention that the council has arrested several offenders in relation to similar cases.
