By Editor - Fri Aug 17, 8:05 pm

High corruption levels among some court officials hinder the vulnerable from easy access of justice. This has been observed by the Paralegal Alliance Network-PAN.

PAN Chairperson, Mary Chisanga, Says this is worsened with the high legal fees that go with court processes. Ms. Chisanga was speaking in Lusaka at a Legal Aid Policy Stakeholders meeting.

And Access to Justice Specialist, Davies Chikalanga, cited high levels of understaffing at the Legal Aid Board as one of the major hindrances towards easy access of justice.

At the same event Prisons Care and Counseling Association Director, Godfrey Malembeka, urged the media to enhance its role in highlighting various challenges faced by prisoners and ex-convicts.
