Mwiinilunga Woman Axed to Death

A 27 year old woman of Mwinilunga District in North Western Province has allegedly been axed to death by her husband.
Faides Kalusa was axed in the head and sustained dead cuts at the back and right side of the head.
Ms. Kalusa was also axed on the left hand to an extent that the hand was almost amputated.
The couple was involved in marital disputes and was at the time on separation.
Mako Kamwanga had approached his wife for reconciliation but she rejected hence his move to axe her.
After allegedly killing his wife Kamwanga decided to runaway but was later apprehended by a mob that started beating him.
North Western Province Police Commissioner Eugene Sibote who has confirmed the development says Kamwanga was only rescued by police.
Mr. Sibote says the suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.
He says Kamwanga has remained in custody without seeking medical attention as the villagers have threatened to kill him if he was taken to hospital.
Mr. Sibote has disclosed that after police rescued Kamwanga the angry mob proceeded to burning 15 houses belonging to Kamwanga’s relatives.
He says a docket of arson has since been opened but no arrest has been made.
